Computer Classes
Our Philosophy:
If you don’t know about it, you won’t use it, so let's start where you are and grow from there!
In our computer classes here at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center, you will learn computer concepts ranging from basic to advanced. We use projects to give our participants a large variety of computer tools that they can use to accomplish computer tasks of their own.
Where Should You Start?
I encourage everyone begins with the Computer 1 class since it provides the foundation for the other classes that we offer.
What Kinds of Things Will You Learn?
The short answer is that it depends on which classes you sign up for.
The long answer is Clipart, WordArt, File Management, Creating, Saving, and Printing Documents, Designing Greeting Cards, Wallpaper & Screensavers, Labels & Envelopes, Spelling & Grammar Check, Searching on the Internet, Creating & Manipulating Spreadsheets,
Using Google or Facebook, Using your Smartphone or Tablet, and Much Much More!
When Are the Classes?
Our classes meet for 1 ½ hours once a week for 7 to 10 weeks. We offer both morning (9:30AM-11:00AM) and afternoon (1:30pm-3:00PM) classes. We have four sessions a year – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. The schedule is variable, so call or stop in for more information and/or to put your name on the contact list for the next session.
What is the Cost of Classes?
The classes are FREE! It is sometimes necessary for participants to have a portable storage device called a flash drive. You can bring your own or we have them available for purchase ($5). This is a one-time expense regardless of how many classes you take.
What Other Activities are Available in the Computer Room?
In addition to classes, we have periodic workshops, and one on one help with computers, cellphones, and tablets, by appointment.
Watch our website, Facebook page, and flyers around the center for new upcoming offerings!
